The company started drilling a prospecting and appraisal well №402 on Vuktylsky oil and gas condensate field in Vuktylsky district of the Komi Republic. The well will be 5650 meters deep.
Preparatory work for the drilling began in September last year. During this time the site was prepared, the necessary drilling equipment was delivered and installed. Investment in the well construction amounts to 1.67 billion rubles.
The result of the work will be a confirmation of the significant gas reserves in the lower strata of Vuktylsky field. The successful drilling of the 402nd well will maintain and improve existing infrastructure of Vuktylsky Gas Production Directorate, and will provide Sosnogorsk Gas Processing Plant with raw materials until 2050.
According to experts, the volume of penetration will be 2490 meters in 2014. The company plans to complete construction in 2016.
Mikhail Geikhman, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Krasnodar, said: "Drilling of the Vuktylskaya well No. 402 is a strategic project for our company. Its implementation will significantly increase the resource base. Drilling of this producing formation will give a second life to the Vuktylsky field and secure smooth gas production in the Republic of Komi."
